Spinebrain This is an album I found via AOTY-lists on the net. Did not even know the band is from Finland, I should know my own countrymen. It takes a while to mesmerize you, but absolutely great listen on a dark starry night by the fireplace. Favorite track: Star-Spawn.

CosmicWizard Hypnotic worship music. Excellent, and an apex example of the "doom" genre. Melody, atmosphere, and depth in equal proportion. Favorite track: Star-Spawn.

VUKARI A lovely addition to my metal collection. This is a beautiful and in depth work of synth melodies, and slow, gorgeous waves of metal strength and brilliance.

Favorite track: Queen, Arise.

Outstanding! This is the word to describe not only "Strävan", but Murg, as a proficient, unique swedish duo. Their ability to craft ferocious hymns, unsophisticated but with plenty of variety and melodic settings is truly impressive. This is an album that stayed with me over the years and I am sure I will keep it close for many years to come. And after hearing it hundreds of times, it still gives me the chills.
